4x6.5 Antique Farahan Sarouk Rug

:: Diamond shaped center medallion atop a covered field with corner spandrel and field overlay main field and interior medallion all featuring a henna plant repeating design in inverted coloration. Main border in a partial Herati design motif of double sickle shaped serrated leaves encompassing a main palmette reminiscent of a pomegranate central feature. Colors and shades include: Navy blue, dusty pale cochineal red, ivory, dusty sky blue, mauve, faded dusty raspberry red, dusty teal, and more. Condition notes: Even wear across to knot heads with faint foundation showing through. Most of the original side cord selvages are intact or restored. Mostly secure sides and ends. Minor edge roll and slight rippling to one side which may ease through use of a pad and/or an addendum service at a small added charge of laying down the edges. Recently professionally cleaned ready for in-home use! Many years of enjoyment to come with this hand knotted Persian Farahan Sarouk rug made in Persia circa 1910's vintage.
